The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) which is operated under the Police Act No. 7 of 1964 is the national police force of the Republic of Sierra Leone. The SLP is primarily responsible for law enforcement and crime investigations throughout Sierra Leone. The Sierra Leone Police is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a cabinet ministry in the Government of Sierra Leone. This Ministry is responsible for the internal safety and security of the State.
