The SLP is primarily responsible for law enforcement and crime investigations throughout Sierra Leone. The Sierra Leone Police is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a cabinet ministry in the Government of Sierra Leone. This Ministry is responsible for the internal safety and security of the State.
