IGP INSPIRES 6 OSD REGIONAL COORDINATORS

The Operations Support Division (OSD) – a paramilitary unit within the Sierra Leone Police structure – are trained to perform high-risk duties including: public order management, riots control, VIP protection, etc. As the SLP is responsible for the internal security of Sierra Leone, the OSD wing is also tasked to protect all national assets from any form of destruction.

Those OSD Coordinators in the six (6) Police Regional Command Headquarters, on Wednesday 23rd September, 2020, happily put forward their hopes, aspirations, expectations and challenges to the IGP (Mr. Ambrose M. Sovula) at Police Headquarters, George Street, Freetown.

In responding to the officers, the IGP commended the effort of the OSD wing as they had been very supportive to other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the country. He continued that the concerns being raised by the six (6) OSD Regional Coordinators would be brought before management for necessary action. “Team Work” was what he closed with as he encouraged them to support one another in time of need.
