SECURITY SECTOR DIALOGUE WITH CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS (CSOs)

After the just concluded June 24th, 2023, multi-tier elections in Sierra Leone, on Wednesday 2nd August 2023, a cross section of the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Sierra Leone dialogued with the Security Sector in a bid to inform the Security Sector about the incessant threatening messages received from an unknown person or group of persons against them and their families.

This, according to them, has the tendency to put them in fear and their family members.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police – Mr. William Fayia Sellu encouraged them to report any threats directed at their persons and/or their families to the Police, noting that the SLP now has a well-equipped cyber lab to investigate any cyber-related offences.

He furthered that, the general public can as well report such cases at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters or at Police Headquarters in Freetown.

IGP Sellu re-assured them of their safety and security and called on the general public to corporate with the Sierra Leone Police in order to arrest and prosecute those unscrupulous people in our respective societies.
