Five (5) suspected hardcore criminals have been arrested in a ghetto situated along McRobert Street in Bo city as the Regional Police Commander South, AIG Aiah Edward Samadia, intensified security in that part of the country to ensure watertight security coverage in the City and its environs. He furthered that such raids will be ongoing to ensure stability and calmness ahead of the festive season.
The five arrested suspects were: Dedi Maxwell, Abu Bakarr Marrah, Alie Gbla, Prince Tower and Mohamed Yarjah (all residing at various addresses in the city). They were arrested during a raid conducted on Wednesday 20th October, 2021 and in their possession were one (1) shot gun (pistol), one (1) double barrel shot gun and some quantities of illegal substances (Marijuana and Kush).
In another development, based on intelligence led policing, the Police have also arrested one Mohamed Kanu – known to be a local shot gun manufacturer – along Mattru Road in Bo City. He was arrested in possession of seven (7) locally made shot guns and a pistol.
Meanwhile, the two Police Divisions in the city (Bo East Police Division and Bo West Police Division) still embark on raids at various identified grey areas to continue the crackdown on notorious hardcore criminals and to put a halt to their illegal activities.
All suspects and exhibits are in police custody while investigations are in progress at the Transnational Organized Crime Unit, South.
