REPORT ON A CASE OF ALLEGED POSSESSION OF SUBSTANCES USED IN THE MANUFACTURING OF SYNTHETIC KUSH; POSSESSION OF ECSTASY WITHOUT LAWFUL AUTHORITY.

On Tuesday 19th December, 2023, the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) Hastings, received a transferred matter from Calaba Town Police Station relating to the above subject for further investigation, together with exhibits including two (2) black polyethylene bags containing dry shredded leaves, one plastic container of Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol, One (1) Packet of pure Baking Soda, Two (2) Measuring equipment, Ten (10) Nose Masks, and One (1) Digital Scale suspected to be used in the manufacturing of synthetic Kush; and Nineteen (19) Sachets of tablets suspected to be Ecstasy, as well as four (4) suspects, namely: Hawa Conteh of 9 Tejan Lane, Shell Area, Freetown; Alhaji Dibia Sesay of Three Miles, Waterloo; Ibrahim Samuel Foday of Poyo Bar Calaba Town; and Ibrahim Sesay of Poyo Bar, Calaba Town.

The said arrested was emanated from a search conducted at Jamboria Street, Calaba Town on Monday 18th December, 2023.

Samples of some of the seized items are to be collected by the Forensic Toxicologist for analysis.

Meanwhile, four (4) suspects are in custody assisting the investigation. The alleged prime suspect, Abdul Karim Kamara is said to be on the run.

Investigation is ongoing.
