REPORT ON A CASE OF ALLEGED POSSESSION OF SUBSTANCES SUSPECTED TO BE USED IN THE MANUFACTURING OF KUSH; AND LOOSE QUANTITY OF KUSH WITHOUT LAWFUL AUTHORITY – TOCU HQ

On Monday 18th December, 2023, a joint team of TOCU personnel and other Stakeholders including National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Forces Intelligence and Security Unit (FISU) operationalized an intelligence and raided a premises at 19 Mudge Farm, Off Wilkinson Road, Freetown where Thirty-three (33) plastic containers of Acetone, Ten (10) plastic containers of Methanol, and Twenty-seven (27) plastic parcels of Marshmallow suspected to be substances used in the manufacturing of Kush; and loose quantity of processed Kush were discovered together with the sums of Ninety-seven million Leones(Le 97, 000,000) and Three hundred British Pounds (£ 300) suspected to be proceeds from the sale of the said substances, as well as assorted business and financial documents.

All the seized items were brought to TOCU for investigation together with two (2) suspects Anan Alamy of the above address and Desmond Frazer of 15 Campbell Street, Freetown who claimed possession of the said items.
Two other suspects, Osman Koroma of FourahBay College Hostel and Maligie Suma who were found at the same premises were also picked up for questioning.

A written request has been forwarded to the Toxicologist and Forensic Analyst for examination and analysis of the seized substances which samples are yet to be collected for the process.

The four (4) suspects are in custody assisting the ongoing investigation.
