IGP SELLU INSPECTS 17 BRAND NEW VEHICLES FOR THE SLP

As part of his desire to capacitate and improve on the well-being of the Sierra Leone Police, the Inspector General of Police – Mr. William Fayia Sellu has on Saturday 14th January 2023, inspected seventeen (17) brand new vehicles at Kingtom Police Barracks Field, in Freetown.
These vehicles are part of the SLP’s preparedness for the successful policing of the multi-tier general elections come June 2023, as this will enhance effective and fficient police patrols across the entire country.
In another development, the Inspector General of Police and a cross section of the Executive Management Board members inspected SLP landed property at Hanga, Jui Police Barracks and Kissy Police Barracks respectively.
The rationale behind the tour was to map out strategies to secure all Police landed property that are prone to encroachment and further develop those lands for Police use.
Mr. Sellu also used the opportunity to admonish a cross section of the Operations Support Division (OSD) personnel at Jui Police Barracks.
IGP’s admonition was centred around discipline and professionalism; adding, that plans are underway to improve on the welfare of personnel especially on the area of healthcare services.
He cautioned them to be apolitical in a bid to professionally execute their constitutional mandate and to uphold the integrity of the organisation (SLP).
IGP Sellu urged Police Engineers to come up with developmental initiative in order to secure those pieces of land at Hanga and Kissy Police Barracks respectively.
