EX-SERVICEMEN ASSOCIATION HONOURS IGP FAYIA SELLU

As tradition demands, on Wednesday 8th November, 2023, a cross-section of the Ex-Servicemen Association paid a courtesy call on the Inspector General of Police – Mr. William Fayia Sellu at his George Street office in Freetown.

Presenting on behalf of the Association, Retired Lieutenant Colonel Sowa said that the National Remembrance Day Planning Committee was at Police Headquarters to purposely decorate the Inspector General of Police and to further recognize his efforts as one of the valuable contributors to funding the poppy week commemoration in the country. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the IGP for the support.

In response, IGP Sellu welcomed the acting President of the Association – Retired Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Kamara and team to his office.

“All of us are in this together as my father fought the second world war as a military man and later joined the Sierra Leone Police”, he said.

IGP Fayia Sellu thanked the team for their thoughts and recognition given the fact the he missed the last Poppy Day celebration as no one came to his office, but however noted that ‘we are all together’ and thanked them for recognizing him and the SLP as a whole.
