BIOMETRIC LICENSE REACHES SLP

As Sierra Leone gradually moves towards digitization, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) embraces this great transformation process by supporting other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority – being one government agency which operates in close liaison with the SLP in terms of road security – has extended its novel biometric license to the SLP, beginning with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) (Dr. Ambrose Michael Sovula) and some members of his management team.

This benefit came to the SLP on Thursday 21st October, 2021 following a short digital procedure to capture the biometric details of beneficiaries. The IGP together with some members of his management team received theirs at Police Headquarters, George Street, Freetown.

The Executive Director of SLRSA (Ibrahim Sannoh) officially handed over the printed biometric license of the IGP to him whilst the Director of Licensing issued the rest.
