Please find below an abstract report on a fatal road crash that occurred on Saturday, 20th January 2024, between 10:00 and 11:00 hours at Makoth Village, along the Makeni/Freetown Highway.
Details of the Incident:
Alphajor Barrie of Magburaka town was in control of a Nissan Taxi Car with registration number AWN 387. The vehicle collided with a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van with registration number AQH 938, driven by Mohamed Conteh of Gassama Street, Calaba Town, Freetown.
Casualties and Injuries:
Three passengers onboard the Nissan Taxi were fatally injured:
– Kadiatu Koroma, No.4 Off Scott Drive, Spur Loop, Wilberforce, Freetown (27 years old)
– Samuel Turay, No.10 Kabba Street, Waterloo (20 years old)
– Patricia Jalloh, No.81 Bangura Street, Waterloo (12 years old)
The deceased were transported to Connaught Hospital mortuary for postmortem examinations.
Additional Information:
Police medical request forms were issued to both the driver and a pedestrian involved, for urgent medical treatment at Magburaka Government Hospital.
Current Status:
Investigation is ongoing. The matter was later settled informally, and all involved parties have been buried.
